The idea is that you can reactivate your English, enjoy doing it and if you’re lucky you’ll learn some more as you go along. The meetings are fun and relaxed. There is no pressure and nobody ever thinks about things like certificates. However there is some ‘homework’ to do each week – usually something to read, so that we have meat to get our teeth into when we meet.
It is not easy to find rooms permanently for a caper like this which some don’t seem to take seriously but I have now landed happily for the moment in a library and a church. . Each offer generous hospitality and receive a donation for me for this.

I myself am interested in current affairs and am pleased when others are, too. That is why I am planning to offer various articles which can be downloaded and read at home “just for fun” such as this article about the globalisation fo work from the BBC
